Holistic evaluation of  admissions applications that  is effective, objective, and  reproducible

Applications Quest allows you  to achieve a diverse group of  admitted applications in line  with school academic  standards and objectives,  without giving preference to  any racial group or ethnicity
 in admissions decisions.

Unlike other holistic  approaches, Applications  Quest uses a model that is  objective and reproducible -  and therefore free of human  error and/or bias.

This approach adheres to the  Supreme Court’s ruling  because it does not allow for  preference to be given on the  basis of race/ethnicity.

In Applications Quest, holistic review and diversity are achieved by creating distinctive groupings or clusters of applications which share a high degree of similarity.  Because each grouping/cluster represents a distinctive pattern of similarities across a set of attributes (relative to other clusters), clusters form the basis of diversity in Applications Quest.

How it works - diversity achieved by
holistic clustering of applications, not by race/ethnicity

Applications Quest groups a school’s
applicants into numerous clusters, each containing students with similar
backgrounds and qualifications. The
students are grouped using a broad range
of common attributes rather than a single criterion such as race.  Applications may
then be selected from each cluster to
ensure a diverse group of accepted
applicants.

Applications Quest achieves diversity
on the basis of diverse application
clusters, not on the basis of race/
ethnicity.

Race/ethnicity is only one of many
variables determining diversity - not the
sole determinant.
